We are looking for a part-time Remote Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, equity-centered virtual care. In this flexible role (about 5 hours per week), you’ll triage patient messages, share results, and guide patients through referrals and care plans — ensuring they feel supported and cared for between appointments.

Role type:

Part-time

Location:

Remote

About the Role

We’re looking for a Remote Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team part-time (5 hours per week, approximately 1 hour per day with ability to flex up hours as needed). In this role, you’ll provide virtual clinical support by triaging patient messages, responding to inbasket requests, notifying patients of normal lab test results, and helping patients navigate their referrals and care plans. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that patients feel supported, heard, and cared for — even outside of traditional appointments.

This is a great opportunity for a compassionate, self-directed nurse who has strong clinical judgment and a deep commitment to reproductive health and health equity.

Your Responsibilities

  • Triage patient messages from the EMR inbasket, addressing clinical concerns, care coordination needs, and general questions
  • Escalate urgent issues appropriately to the CNM or OB as needed
  • Provide education and guidance around symptoms, medications, test results, and prenatal/postpartum care
  • Help coordinate patient referrals and assist with care navigation across our partner services (e.g., imaging, labs, specialists)
  • Use Millie’s technology to document interactions and support patient communication in between visits
  • Collaborate with the Millie care team including midwives, OBs, doulas, and patient care navigator

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented RN who has:

  • 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (OB/GYN or reproductive health experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to offer empathetic, clear virtual support
  • Commitment to health equity, reproductive justice, and culturally affirming care
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote setting
  • Comfortable working with digital tools and EMRs (Epic experience a plus)
  • Active, unrestricted RN license (California license required)
  • Spanish or other language fluency is a plus
  • Strong clinical judgment and triage skills

Our Commitment to building a diverse and inclusive workplace

At Millie, we are committed to health equity and culturally competent care — as well as prioritizing, affirming, and celebrating diversity within our team, clinicians, and patients. We strongly encourage BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.

About Millie

Millie is reimagining the hospital-based midwifery model. We aim to provide more complete, inclusive, and empowering care with better maternal health outcomes by centering midwifery-led care with OB collaboration as a standard in the U.S.

Our in-person clinic provides a warm and welcoming environment for holistic perinatal care. At Millie, support extends beyond the clinic through app-based education, remote monitoring, and virtual care spanning specialties. We partner with hospitals for our labor and delivery services — and all services are covered by major insurance plans and Medi-Cal. Our patient population is very diverse and we hope to build a clinical team that reflects the patients we serve.

Our clinic and care team are successful when all birthing parents, regardless of background:

  • Feel valued, respected, and heard.
  • Feel confident and supported in their decisions.
  • Can easily access trusted and skilled support.
  • Experience a healthier pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. This includes (but is not limited to) reduced rates of preterm births, NICU stays, C-sections, earlier detection of complications, and a better experience.

This is an opportunity to raise the bar for maternity care, shape a growing midwifery practice, and work with a team of inspiring and committed people. If you are passionate about improving reproductive health, come join us!
